Challenge towards accurately testing QEC at scale

Our ScaLER method for testing quantum error correction was challenged by Craig Gidney (creator of Stim), who ran 634 billion Monte Carlo shots to find 1 logical error. We respond with extended experiments showing ScaLER’s estimate converges toward the brute-force result using 186x fewer samples.
